 Scriptures and Quotes

The kind of young woman who can be a terrific torchbearer has high standards all the time, not just in her prom dress, but every, ordinary day. There are so many of you who are like that, and I salute you tonight. You have made modesty your way of life. It is more than how you dress. It includes at least six things that I can think of: (1) your behavior is decent and modest, and yet you are very fun to be with; (2) your language is never crude but happy and interesting; (3) you are well groomed, and that is appealing; (4) you are focused on developing your talents and achieving your goals, not piercing and tattooing and flaunting your body; (5) you play sports with gusto but never lose control; (6) you don't seem to care about what the latest pop star wears or does because you have a certain style of your own. In summary, you do not imitate the world's standards because you know a higher standard. You know who you are, and that puts you at a real advantage. You know that you really are a daughter of Heavenly Father. You know that He knows you and that He loves you; you want to please Him and honor His love for you. You know that even if you make foolish mistakes, He will help you if you turn to Him. (Sister Margaret Nadauld, March, 2002)
Till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me (Job 27:5).

Integrity
"So who do you think you are? Who you think you are and who you really are can be two different versions of yourself. From an eternal perspective, these two versions need to come together. God knows you and what you can become because He has known you from the beginning when you were His spirit sons and daughters. What you become will depend in large measure upon how you follow righteous principles and do good works." President James E Faust, "Who Do You Think You Are?", New Era, March 2001

A Promise Kept
The Bulletin Board: Worldwide Values,” New Era, Nov. 1999, 38 As part of the general Young Women worldwide celebration, the young women of the Salt Lake Utah Tongan Stake built their integrity as they dedicated each day of one week to living a Young Women value. Activities of the week included a fireside on families, a special family home evening, a “family compliment and gratitude” day, a “read to me” day, a “choose the right” day, a “family service” day, and a talent show. For the fireside, the Young Women dressed in traditional Tongan attire in the colors of the YW values. The celebration week strengthened the girls’ testimonies and their resolve to do what is right.
